For most of the countries, when the new generation tanks are too expensive to buy, they are going to upgrade their old tanks. In this project, I am going to upgrade a tank. The original tank was designed by my friend and I. This semi-frictional tank called “Type 43 medium tank”, which was based on the 1940s technology in the real world. In this project, I need to upgrade the tank to 1970s standard. This means that this tank should be able to deal with most of the main battle tanks during that time period. And also survive in the 1970s battlefield.
對很多國家來說，往往沒有足夠的經費購置足夠的新世代主力戰車，在這種情況下，升級既有的戰車就會不得已的選擇了。本模型為空想清軍武器系列的二次創作，目的為改進並升級漫畫中的43式中型戰車(二戰標準)。在現有戰車的架構中，升級並讓其在70年代戰場環境下生存。

That’s the scenario for this project, and I have to use the 1960-1970 technology to upgrade this tank. Why I choose the 1970s is because most of the technology from that time are not classified now, I can easily get specification and design the upgraded tank – “Type 70 main battle tank (MBT)”.
在這個預設環境下，我必須使用60-70年代的科技來升級此戰車。之所以會選擇70年代是因為那年代的科技已經不是機密了，很多資料和技術細節都可以在網路上找到，這讓我的設計可以更加簡單直觀。
This is a semi-fictional tank upgrade project; the purpose of this project is to upgrade the late 1940s medium tank “Type 49 tank” from a comic book to 1970s standard. The upgrade should not change the overall original design. By changing some components and adding additional equipment, the upgraded tank should be able to deal with the 1970s combat environment. For example, the upgraded tank should be able to fight against American M48 and M60 Patton tanks, Soviet T-62 and T-64 tanks, as well as most of the 1970s European main battle tanks.
這個設計在盡可能不更動原始設計的情況下，讓此車有對付70年代戰場的能力。不過為了要符合70年代嚴酷的戰場環境，更動還是不少的，最後連動力包件和砲塔環都換掉了。整輛車從二戰常見的前驅改為後驅，這樣可以改善維護性，釋放車身正面空間與重量，以安裝更強大的正面裝甲。砲塔環與砲塔進行加大，以容納更大的105毫米主砲炮尾以及更大的後座力。配上簡單的附加裝甲以及輕型反應裝甲(ERA)，還有多層式正面炮盾設計，在飛彈橫飛的70年代戰場也能有堪用的生存性。理論上，此車將可以和大部份的西方第二代主力戰車(T-62、M60、AMX30等)抗衡，對上早期的第三代主力戰車也還有反擊能力。
