While we creating any model from sketch, we need to remember how important your layout sketch is. It might seems unimportant at first, but several great layout sketches could strongly increase your efficiency on debugging your model, creating variants for different models and clean up your design tree in the future.
While you trying to create your first layout sketch, you need to make sure you are using the correct units. I will always recommend you create template with different units for future modeling task.
